Parents of the HS Class of 2009 (Part 1)

My H has both these genes and they are equally expressed. Sick as a dog, big baby and yet, refuses to do anything about it. Urghhhhhh.

Best Youtube video of all time:

His H1N1 turned to pneumonia…has been in ICU for 7 days…he hasn’t really gotten worse since Sunday, don’t think they’re as worried about organ failure, but can’t really get enough oxygen in his blood.

[YouTube - “Man Cold” from Man Stroke Woman](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXLHWmjA5IE)

used wrong link before… so deleted and reposted.

Missy… this sounds so flippin’ scary. I tried to tell son about the 60 minutes kid and your friend… and he did seem to “get” the fear of secondary infection. I am hopeful that if he understands that he ALREADY HAS a secondary infection compromising his system, he might be more prone to seek something for at least that, even if he thinks his risk of H1N1 are overblown.

In looking up the number for the health center, I noticed for the first time they are posting statistics on the website. In a school with about 2500 students, since August 2009 and updated on October 20:
Total number of students with Influenza-Like-Illness since August 24, 2009: 79
Total number of students with Influenza-Like-Illness during the past 7 days: 24
Total number of students with confirmed H1N1 flu since August 24, 2009: 1

Moda, I quick watched both right away since at some point the “CC illegal” You-Tube links will be pulled down. I kind of liked the first one - if you put the video game controller at the foot of the bed and he reaches down to get it, it isn’t the flu.

Talking with a friend of mine, who reported that when her third child went to college, she got a license plate that read MTNSTXTC.

Mine wouldn’t read that; would yours?

Aww… wonder why cuz I can post on facebook no problem. Anyway… no, that’s the flu. The one is called Man Cold. If they take them down off CC, sorry. But I just searched Man Cold and it popped up first. Guy calls 999 (england 911).

Z - no, but mostly because I have no idea what it’s trying to say. If I had a vanity plate, it’d have to be easy to decipher

Modadunn–that was great! made me laugh. I have the after vacation doldrums here. Everything I need to do is so boring and tedious. Now am worrying about S as I realize that he has had a sniffle since the beginning of school. He is so skinny–if he gets he does not have much to work with. Bet he calls though…

Z-- took a minute, but I got it! Very clever. H keeps saying he’s waiting for our 2 to be “off the payroll.” Maybe we can get that on a license plate.

I am not that clever, so could someone kindly spell it out for me so I can feel stupid and get it over with?

I get the XTC part. (from the CDB book: LCSNXTC)

took me a minute, but Mountain State Ecstacy

Empty Nest Ecstacy?

thanks missypie, ecmo can be good to rest the lungs and heart. we use it on very small babies to adults. It isnt pretty looking if you have never seen it. lots of big large tubes with blood in them like bypass. perhaps that is why no visitors. I dont think I would like anyone to see me like that. I am so sorry and pray he does well.
yes men like to complain but dont do anything usually. Moda would giving him a time ling work or are you beyond that? I do call to follow up to make sure she is making proper decisions.

oh, empty nest! Facepalm.

D2 just called. She sounds less congested thanks to roomie supplying her with Dayquil. Finished her last midterm and prof graded it on the spot but said score would be adjusted through curve and throwing out bad questions!?!?! Fortunately for her she did extremely well without the changes. She continues to be amazed at quick/instantaneous results. Definitely not like her HS!

Cograts to your D! NM

Really, TheAnalyst?? I thought my researching internships would just be more of the ‘over-involved’ hovering that contributed to son not taking too much initiative in certain areas. Had talked myself into giving him autonomy & distance & “letting him handle things on his own” as my husband is always telling me to do.

Now I’m re-thinking that. Just thought it would be so cool to go on some archeology dig in the summer, wouldn’t it?

I’m feeling sorry for myself, as H is off at parents’ weekend and I’m holding down the fort. Just had a surprise phone call from D, trying out her new phone which was hand-delivered by H. It was so nice to hear from her, but I got a little teary for the 1st time in a long while.

I’m sure I’ll have a nice weekend with S and we’ll find fun things to do, however, it all of a sudden feels like a long time since I’ve seen D. Those emotions have a way of sneaking up on you when you are least expecting them!

Northern - Did you already say why you weren’t going? Or was it a compromise since someone has to stay home? Anyway you slice it, I’d be bummed as well to be missing out. However, I will fully admit that I loved any time I could get with just my Dad and myself - as it was beyond rare and he was always so busy most of the time.

Son answered my email (and I’ve already mailed him his bribe), but I have to say… I got the most detailed answers out of him yet! So… there ya have it. Now I just hope he doesn’t refuse to answer any questions unless I am bribing him! But even H said it seemed to have the result we were both looking for. He says on a scale from 1 is hardly any effort and 10 is breaking your neck, the work load is about an 8.5. And he’s written my sister a thank you note, but has no stamps. So… I added those to his pay envelope. I had asked him 11 questions, but one of them was asking what would be the most well received kind of cookie among all the guys in his suite. I even said it wasn’t included on the list of 10 because after all, there were cookies at the end… This is how he ended his email to me.

I honestly have no idea why I find the kid so charming, but I do. I miss the little critter hugely
