Parents of the HS Class of 2009 (Part 1)

Nice to hear from you again Zim.
Your visit with S sounds idyllic.
You have every right to be proud of your son, it sounds like he is taking great advantage of the gift you have given him.

Oh Zim, I too am speechless. Could you possibly share pictures somehow? And it sounds like you and S have both made a great transition to this new chapter in your lives.

historymom, here’s how to make fireworks:
[ size=+4 ][ color=red ][ /size ][ /color ] without the spaces makes this:

and perhaps more seasonally appropriate - snowflakes:

*

[ size=+4 ][ color=green ]*[ /size ][ /color ]

HUH??
For heaven’s sake, I still don’t know how to quote!!

Ohhhh–I forgot the no spaces thing!!!

LOL! Another fun trick here on CC!

To quote Henry Higgins:
“I think she’s got it…The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain…”!!!

How does this work?

I think you’ve got it CF :)

And just in time for Valentine’s Day: [color=red]<3/color

BTW, I went to Joanne Fabrics today to shop for D’s Valentine care package and found what little they had left in the back marked down 40%. The front window was full of Easter and St. Patrick’s day stuff. Huh? Is it really “late” to buy V-Day stuff?

I went to the local T.J. Maxx to see if I could find socks, etc., – virtually nothing there either!

Biltong? I’ll have to look it up.
Thakhs for the geat images, Zim. Glad you checked in.

Walmart has three packs of womens’ valentine’s socks (pink hearts and the like) that are amazingly soft (for Walmart).

*

It’s snowing here in Virginia. So that’s a snowflake.

Thanks, PRJ.

Words can be big and blue too!

Well, fine.

oops. not so fine. back to basics for me.

Wow been gone for a few days traveling for work. Looks like there is a lot to catch up on. Love the fireworks. I’ll have to figure out how to do that!

$$$ is what college costs!

And thank you, zimbabwemom, for your posts - can’t begin to imagine being surrounded by so many beautiful animals!

We’ve seriously gone off the deep end :)

you guys are most silly
but I love ya all anyway

Well, I never thought I’d say this but I am about ready to drive to D’s college and shake her.

Lengthy discussions over break over how to approach social and academic situations differently. Lengthy pep talks and encouragement to explore new social settings, new activities, need for new study habits.

We’re now two weeks into the semester and it’s like nothing we talked about matters or if she even listened! I am just so frustrated and irritated and just have no idea what to do.

Okay. Rant over.
