Hello folks,

Block Party was a success. Weather held, attendance was great. Way too much food. Dunk tank was a big hit. The mechanism needed some adjusting, so S2 and I ‘tested’ it on each other Saturday morning. Other than that I watched – helped little kids and stuff. S2 and friends cut cards to see who had to climb in, S1 and his friends were too cool to partake.

The bad news is that the Suburban went down while DW and I were on our way to pick up the dunk tank. 108K miles, so by G# standards, just getting broken in. Still waiting on the diagnosis from our mechanic.

Good to see Psych, R6L and writestuff 54

LOL – S1 likes to bake a tray of chocolate chip cookies about three times a week and then eats 3-4 while they are still hot. Which leaves way too many for the rest of us! I’m in you camp on the sense of relief.

Mdemvisi – The composition of our block party has changed over the years as well. Some of our older ‘kids’ are now bringing food to the picnic– such an adult thing! Time passes, people change and grow, or not. We sense that S1 is also sorting out the friends who are ‘keepers’ from those destined to be memories.

12rmh18 – sorry, dunking time was at a premium so the kids go to go first. But all the Dads spent plenty of time throwing the softballs. As DW predicted, we all had sore arms the next day

Absolutely. Mentally twiddling my thumbs. S1 and mom will sort through his stuff – dorm mountain is more of a hillock this year, but still needs the SUV to haul it, otherwise he would be on his way without us. And so we hover….

Happy 25th Anniversary to the Lilmom/Lildad, and 30th for SLUmom/dad

P56 – Cheers to our kids!

ACM – Sounds like the party was a resounding success. Especially when CrazyDad broke open the Magic Elixir of Everlasting Youth aka A good single malt. As my DW is fond of saying “those stories just never get old, do they?”

G# - In one aspect I did manage to stay dry, yet was quite delightfully soaked in another
Glad to hear your D is in her new place. My first bookshelves were concrete blocks and boards. They’re still around here somewhere.

Land of the Lost – the three men in this household are convinced that the one woman hides things (often in plain sight) so that she can come to the rescue, thereby increasing her stature and importance.
It’s a plot!

Somewhereinga, I’m sorry for the loss of kiki. Sixteen years sounds like a life well lived, but it’s never easy.

Good luck to the launched and launching. Safe travels to all. Stay
