<p>Jr FINALLY realized that he turns 18 next week…</p>
<p>He sent me copies of his (2) larger essays for HMFR #1. I must say, I am pretty darn impressed!! We went over his notes for essay #3 last night, and if he puts it together the way we were talking, it could be another good one!!</p>
<p>Now if I could just get them to go to bed before 2am…sigh…</p>
<p>When D2 went off to college, it was ACTUALLY a break for her, and more relaxing than her senior year and her summer in many ways.</p>
<p>Cromette~ I can see where that can and probably will be the case. I am just praying that all of our kiddo’s can start to relax around Christmas time when most apps need to be done. Then have a blast their last few months in HS :)</p>
<p>Cromette- I agree, I think they will find college a little easier in the sense that the insane “busy” work won’t be as ever-present. I’m hoping so, anyway.
Good news x 2 here. D seems to have her UNC supplement set, and down to 502 words. Hopefully they can cope with 2 extra ones. Its visual now- before it was a lot of “telling” so also an improvement.
In addition the GC finally emailed me back about S14s GPA. He’s got an abysmal 8th grade mark (and yes, it counts, much as I wish it didn’t) and I know his “true” GPA but I wondered what it was in 9th and 10th grades. I was happily surprised to see the upward trend as the classes got more difficult. Hopefully he can continue that this year with the two APs.
I’m going to be ready for time off after the 2014s graduate. D13 is not even done and I’m splitting my attention between her and S14… Those of you with twins and triplets, I bow to you.</p>

<p>I am seconding MDMom’s prayer for all our kids that they can be done by Christmas break and have a great, fun second half of senior year. After reading about all the homework, activities and lack of sleep that everyone posted - they deserve it!</p>
<p>Did anyone else watch last night’s episode? The parents drove their oldest daughter to college. It was hilarious. The dad wore a tshirt that said Haley Dunphy (her name) Moving Co and had a pic of her as a little kid being swung by her parents on it and spilled a box of condoms in front of the new roomie and her dad.</p>
<p>Saw it. That was maybe my all-time favorite Modern Family ever. Poignant and funny. I didn’t even think about Haley Skyping a lot as a way to keep her on the show.</p>
<p>I watched it too - laughed a lot but also got teary eyed when she didn’t have anyone to sit with in the dining hall and then called her parents in the car…not going to be easy!!!</p>
<p>Just got back from parent/teacher conferences, we go because we feel we have to. We never really learn anything all that exciting :D. It’s fun to watch the look on the teacher’s faces when they finally figure out the kids are twins though–they look nothing alike so most people wouldn’t even think they are related. Their AP Psych teacher was quite embarrassed though. They both have him, but different hours. They have been talking about twins all week and they both said they were twins but he never put 2 and 2 together until tonight. That made their AP Physics teacher happy because he also had no idea they were twins.</p>

<p>Steve: My son has a very good friend (girl) at school with our same last name. They look a lot alike and more than once teachers have assumed they were brother/sister or twins.</p>
<p>Wow – Arizona State has outdone themselves. Has anyone else’s kid gotten the Honors College mailing from them that offers to fly you out for a visit? I’m sort of surprised since it was totally unsolicited. That school isn’t really on my radar, but it could be fun to visit…</p>
<p>Tempe is an awesome city, Napalm. I used to live near there some time back. I would’ve loved it if ASU were an option for my son.</p>

<p>Common App question… D needs to submit an application supplement by monday - my guess is it will be last minute. I remember someone saying that it’s a problem to submit on the deadline day if you have to pay a fee (we do) and that it can take a few days for payment to clear. Is this true? Is there a way to submit payment before the supplement?</p>
