Happy birthday, greekmana!!!

Happy Birthday Greekmana

Happy birthday Greekmana!

2/6 supplements submitted. :)

Happy Birthday Greekmana!

Wishing you many happy returns, Greek Mana!

What is this about needing days for the credit card to process? Really?

Thanks for the birthday love. I told the boys that all I want for my birthday is for them to be finished with all the applications!!!

Yes, anouilh, when you go to Signature to submit on common app a few schools put disclaimers that your application is not complete until the credit card has been processed and it can take 2-3 days. I am fairly sure that it was not on all of the schools… Plus I am just ultra paranoid about the internet going out or common app going down due to high volume on the last day! I think we will be spending new year’s eve submitting the last ones!!!

Happy Birthday, Greekmana! :)

Misery does love company and I’m so glad to know there are other offspring cranking out supplement essays as the deadlines draw near. 3 HMFRs, 2 normal reaches, 3 good chances, and 2 safeties. I think 2 are totally done. Aargh.

Yep, right there with you. I did just make the payments to 2 HMFRs for D, and the payment date says: 12/31/2012. So glad you guys pointed this out.

Eek! Thanks for the heads up. D1 did all twelve of her applications in October a couple of years ago (the circumstances were unique, she’s not quite the total paragon of efficiency that that implies ;-), so I never had to worry about anything to do with deadlines. I will look. Thanks again!

(My3girls – 3 already submitted here, 1 done but not submitted, 5 to go. Oy.)

I remember in years past friends being at New Year’s Eve parties without their seniors because they were home finishing their apps.

ETA: Happy birthday, Greek!

Happy Birthday Greekmana!

HBD Greekmana!

Our DD’s five apps were due December 1, for their merit aid deadlines. She completed them by November 1, thankfully. She was accepted by all five, including for her program at one school. She’s received scholarship offers from four; awaiting scholarship info from the last school sometime in February. So we wait :/

Happy Birthday Greek!

YDS, that will be my boy. I would be in shock if he finishes in time to go out for NYE.

Bernese…I made two payments…one said 12/28 and one said 12/31. Those were for the schools that didn’t need the supplement first.

I told him that one supplement better be done so he can submit and make the last payment tonight.

Happy Birthday, Greek!

Happy birthday Greek! Today is my mother’s b-day too, she is 92!

I have been away from CC for a week with no hope of catching up. D has been doing nothing high school or college related (only 4 more days off). She has one supplemental essay left, due Jan 15, and one scholarship app due then too. She got a very nice handwritten note from her U Chicago admissions counselor referencing her essays, so I am wondering if that last supplement will get finished at all. We already submitted the main app and application fee, so I think she should just finish it!

mamabear, that reminds me … ds got the nicest Christmas card from his EA adcom. He was so touched. Smart move be her!

Happy Birthday Greek! Hope you have had a wonderful day!

I am stressed just hearing about all of the apps your DSs and DDs have left to do! Yikes!

We are waiting on a decision from Marquette (should know end of Jan, or sometime in Feb.) and…of course…hoping mightily that the deferral from Michigan turns into an acceptance!!

Thoughts and hugs to all of you whom still have apps going out and credit card payments to make. We have a GREAT group here and I know that 2013 is truly OUR YEAR people! MTOBEIYF!!!

I’m quite sure had DD’13 not gotten into her reach school EA we’d be right with y’all still filling out applications on Dec 31st. As it stands DD thought she might apply to another 1 or 2 reaches just to see but has decided not to. She is done. Now on to scholarship apps.

DD applied to 3 rolling safeties, 2 in-state schools EA, and 2 reaches (1EA). 4 admissions and 3 still out.

Our2 – four acceptances with scholarships already – that’s completely awesome.

mamab – must be lovely to have received that note. Very encouraging!

laurend – thanks for the sympathy and especially for the encouragement. Fingers crossed for Marquette and Michigan to get it right already. :-)

Dragonfly – there’s always something else that can be done, right? Glad that reach is in the bag for you, though.

Applications are paid for (phew!), D2 appears to be working diligently, and on we go. Night all!
