That second performance was fantastic. Our tiny 44-member band (which is 7th through 12th graders) KILLED it. The next biggest band was twice their size, and the other 13 bands were giant powerhouses. What our kids do is naturally very different, but they held their own. I was so dang proud. They ended up placing 10th out of 14, but what’s weird is there were only 6 points between them and the top band. (We had never been to this type of competition before – I’m not fully grasping how the judging works.)

Oh, this brings back so many memories! I loved my time in HS marching band (colorguard). I’m so glad they were able to get the part and kill it in finals!!!
