It’s hard to believe that in just a month my son will have all the info he needs to make his college decision.
Right now, he’s been admitted to 4 schools we can afford - St Olaf, Lawrence (we will be going to admitted student days for these), Whitman (went to an open house there over the summer) and Willamette (he went to a full tuition scholarship competition there on Friday -this one is affordable for us without the scholarship, but if he got it, it would be more appealing).
He also did a virtual full tuition scholarship competition for Lafayette on Wednesday, although he hasn’t been officially admitted there yet.
He has 3 schools that he was admitted to that are above our budget - Reed, Kenyon and Oberlin.
In addition to these, there are 3 highly selective schools that he will hear from in March. These ones are all needs based aid and as my income is variable, I would rather have him attend a school where he will get merit aid, but we’ll see how I’ll feel if any of these become a possibility.
