D26 got an invitation for the 40 acres scholarship at UT today. I know it’s a long shot in the dark but I’m so very proud of her. UT has been her #1, and I’ve been pushing her to apply for scholarships elsewhere but her heart isn’t in it because she doesn’t want to go anywhere else (but won’t say that outright either!) I didn’t see this coming! No where on my bingo card, I’ve just been keeping my fingers crossed for her major. I also can’t post it on facebook either for fear of being murdered.

To have your “safety” be your number 2, that is also incredibly excited about you and affordable is a huge win! No matter what happens with Colby, she is in excellent shape to have joy and success from this process. Congratulations!

So very sorry to hear about your health worries – thinking all good and calming thoughts for you as you wait for the test results. XO

And congrats to D26! I guess the school found her transcript after all that, lol. I’m reading this half asleep in the wee hours, and my first reaction was that it was some kind of test – like “let’s see how much we can plague this kid by pretending to lose her transcript, and the way she responds will tell us if she’s Incarnate Word material.”

Don’t mind me, I should be sleeping.

More good news tonight! Another acceptance - SUNY Binghamton, totally unexpected and came way earlier than we thought. S26 removed Binghamton from his initial list as he had too many reach colleges. The only reason he ended up applying was because of the free application week for SUNY colleges and no supplemental essay required.

Not sure how he truly feels about Bing but he seemed happy with the news.

As my kids would say, sleep is for the weak. :joy:

Full day yesterday of dealing with an ailing kid and an ailing cat and various other stressful life stuff, and my brain wouldn’t turn off.

Tonight is D26’s last high school marching band show, and I am feeling some kind of way about it. I also got wrangled into setting up and manning a hot chocolate station for the band and cheerleaders, so I’d better nap today, lol.

Congrats on the acceptances coming in! I have everything crossed for Dec in out house. My last kiddo at home, D26, is waiting for her ED result then…and ignoring not just her outstanding RD applications, but her list of colleges itself!! I’m trying not to freak out. She has maybe 4 total (I’m being generous) colleges seriously on her list. No amount of visits etc gets her exited beyond the four. And she’s a happy, successful, outgoing student. Just very stubborn and on her own timeline. I’m calming myself by remembering her stubborn older brother’s equally bonkers application “process” which all worked out beautifully in the end after a few “course corrections.” I hope everyone has a good weekend ahead…

Thanks for posting this. I told S26 to check and he was also awarded the WUE scholarship. (No email informing him of update). Looks like he had to check a box to accept the terms of scholarship (which is independent of agreeing to attend).

I kind of thought the same thing! Like “I guess they DID find her transcript!”

that’s great news!

As my D26’s counselor has told their class, “It’s nice to have options in the spring to choose from.”

Tough day in our house. We have to say goodbye to our dog. My DD26 is taking it very hard. But she is pushing going to school because it is a distraction. She doesn’t want to be sad all day. Unfortunately, my DS24 at University of Delaware won’t make it home in time to say goodbye

So hard. I’m sorry.

So, so sorry. It is so hard. :slightly_frowning_face: Tightest hugs to all of you.

We have a yellow lab who is 13 and has grown up with our kids – and she’s hanging in there, but I see the writing on the wall. I just cannot even fathom.
