D26 got in ED last night! And I am officially done with the College Board for undergrad! Woo-hoo!!! (This is my third go-round and I am TIRED). I feel I should drive over to Target and allow myself a good cry in the party-goods aisle (my favorite aisle when they were little–I love swett backyard bday parties for little kids).

That’s wonderful! Congratulations to your D26!

This is my third and last kid, too (although D22 is currently applying to grad schools, and that is a whole other beast, lol) – I suspect she’ll be deciding right before May 1, lol. I alternate between feeling DONE and feeling wistful.

DH tells me I’m anxious. I said no, impatient. Like the closer it gets the longer it takes.

It’s important to know so we can move onto the planning and fun stuff!

Congratulations!!! So exciting (and yet sad) to be done. Especially DONE done. Give yourself whatever time you need, but savor a job very well done thus far.

Daughter was on FT with a couple of friends last night while one of them was awaiting an ED decision. They were SO excited. I heard my daughter say, “OMG I’m so nervous and excited, this is such a big moment. Neither me or (other friend) is going to have this moment so we’re just feeling the feels during yours”. Both my daughter and her other friend have been accepted to a few schools but they were all rolling and randomly released so there was no build up or excitement. My daughter is 99% going to one of the schools she has been accepted at already and so is her other friend so they aren’t going to have that same excitement of anxiously awaiting a response from a school at a dedicated time. The ED friend was accepted. There was a lot of screaming. And then they all went out to celebrate. It was such a sweet moment. Those girls have been together since Kindergarten and now they’re going to be headed off in different directions. I hope they stay friends forever.

Congratulations to all the kids that were accepted yesterday  :confetti_ball:.

My DS26 got deferred.

I have 6 days to wait for her ED school and I’m on pins and needles. She’s just built of something different I guess!

Clemson came out last night at 6 (she got in, yay!). I texted her at 6:05 and she wrote back, “I’m at dinner. I’ll call you at 7” :joy:

Then she calls me at 7, and still hasn’t checked! She had a first meeting with some parents of a kid she’s going to tutor at 6:30 (she’s starting a math tutoring gig for $15/hour….set up a website and everything). She said she didn’t want to check before the meeting in case she didn’t get a good result because then she’d be upset during the call.

Which I suppose makes sense and is probably smart, but if it was me there is no way I would wait!

Next week, her ED is released at 7 pm Thursday. She has a winter concert for chorus that starts at 7 pm Thursday….So I’m gonna be going through it again. At least I’ll have the concert to watch as a distraction though!:joy:

You and me both. And my daughter is like yours. She would have done the same thing for the same reason.

Mine did the same to me yesterday.

Decisions came out at 4pm. She had practice then work, didn’t get home till 6:30pm. Took her time showering, changing, then causally checked around 7:15pm.

Congrats for all the acceptances!! So happy for all of you!

Hugs to the deferred - hope you get good news down the road.

Good friend of D26’s got into his ED school yesterday, and we are thrilled for him. Another friend also found out last night – different school, one even more impossible to get into – but D26 hasn’t heard the outcome yet. I had to tell her, DON’T ASK, just read the room when you see her, lol. The mom is a friend of mine, and we have spent loooong hours talking about college, but I will just wait to hear from her.

We have had a surprisingly chill college application season because mine didn’t apply to any crazy reach schools (last week’s acceptance was the hardest), so now apparently I have to take on everyone else’s stress. :joy:

Choir teacher update: has given C26 extension till Monday 3pm to hopefully have voice recover. So,that’s something!

That is something! Do they have a lot going on this weekend? Lots of steam and throat coat tea and as much rest as possible – I also like NAC and zinc and vitamin C.

Is there school next week, or just finals?

Happy to share that D26 was accepted to FSU (Florida State) :tada: We are so excited for her. She won’t make a final decision until the rest come out, but this has been her top school since visiting and will be tuition free, which is a huge bonus for us. She is admitted for Summer, which is a little bittersweet for me, but we have heard great things about starting there in summer.

Yep, there is a mandatory choreography session tomorrow ahead of musical theater final and… a choir concert on Sunday evening. They have normal school on Monday (will mostly be revision I guess) and finals the rest of the week. Then on Saturday next week we leave on vacation. Busy week!

Congratulations! Woohoo! Tuition-free is amazing. And please know I’m happy for her even though I’m a Gator, lol. :joy: :tada:

My friend’s daughter is a freshman at FSU right now, and she was also given a summer start. BUT, she took a couple of core classes online in the summer instead of moving there, and just moved in the fall. FYI!

Welp- D26 received her first deferral to regular decision. She’s going to be really sad, but it’s a blessing in disguise because they don’t have her major.

Congratulations :tada:

That one comes out 1/23 and might be the only one that will put this one into second place. But it’s not a likely admission for her and honestly I think FSU is a better fit, but we shall see if it becomes a decision to make between them. Thank you so much for the congrats  We expected a deferral so this was an awesome surprise to open last night
