I am a RHP applicant. (Resident Honors Program at USC, which means I can skip senior year and enter college). Admission decisions starting flowing in for USC applicants starting Saturday and will continue throughout this week. (RHP applicants will know this week if thye are in and will know ahead of time due to their guarentee of scholarships). However on Thursday, 2 days before admissions decisions were received by people, USC admission called me for my Junior year 1st semester grades. Problem is, my 1st semester isn’t over and grades will most likely be distributed 2-3 weeks after final exams. (Exams this week). Because of this late schedule, I immediately turned in to USC the next best thing, my latest report card and told them my averages in each class after I verified with each teacher. Was this okay to do? Was I being too paranoid and rash to turn in whatever I could?

I think thats a good thing man. It means they’re still interested.

I think I’d have the HS counselor call the RHP foliks & tell them that your grades won’t be available until ______ & ask if they got all the info they needed from you about hteir grades.

I agree with HImom. This appears to be a critical juncture. Don’t guess. Know the answer. Best way to do that is have the GC go straight to the horse’s mouth. Good luck.

I am going to agree with zee9499. By asking you for a first semester report card, you are borderline or you are in. However, since you cannot provide what they are requesting, I would say you shouldn’t worry. In my opinion, USC probably sent their decisions on the mail, based on what I am seeing on the USC forum on CC. You stated RHP applicants get to know their decisions this week. You should just wait this week and see how it goes.

Just my take on this

You have nothing to lose by having your GC call RHP & reinforcing how much you are a great candidate & appropriate for the RHP & have done everything in your power to get RHP what they need. You do have a lot to possibly lose if you don’t have your GC contact them & they don’t feel you gave them enough info. It is your call, but I’d definitely have my GC call if I were in your shoes, 1st thing Monday morning.
