Hi - I found that my employer added part of my 2012 tuition reimbursement as taxable fringe benefit.

Looks like FAFSA allows to deduct “tuition reimbursements” from employer through question 91d. Could someone help me if my understanding is right (about adding my (Father) taxable tuition reimbursement)?

Thanks

Yes if it was included in their adjusted gross. Question 91 gets subtracted out so its in your favor.

The reimbursement has to be taxable and it has to have been included in the AGI (that is, they did not subtract it out in questions 23-37 of their tax form).

Thanks mitchklong. I did livechat with 3 of FAFSA reps and got different answers. Finally one rep told me to add in 91d (and also found it in this document page #22: http://ifap.ed.gov/fsahandbook/attachments/1213AVG.pdf).
