Parents Vs. UCLA

I am stuck with a decision between following my parent’s decisions and the dream school that I want to go to. My parents want me to go to UC Davis since it is more closer to home while I want to go to UCLA. My sister, who is doing her phD in biochemistry currently in UCLA, is also supporting my parent’s decisions because she thinks I can’t handle the academic coursework in UCLA. My major is also biochemistry for both UC Davis and UCLA. My parents support their arguments by stating that UC Davis costs less than UCLA. However, there is only a $200 difference between UCLA and UC Davis. Me and my sister don’t have a very good relationship or communication, so I don’t care if I see her or not. So what should I do? Should I stick with my parent’s decisions and go to UC Davis or go to UCLA, my dream school?

Talk to your parents and ask them to let this be your decision. Staying close to home should not be a factor in choosing a college. Ask them to understand that you’re An adult And need to follow your own life path. Then go to UCLA And spread your wings.

UCLA is a far better school overall, but I’m not sure on exactly your major.
