suesam, Notre Dame does not do the traditional college parent’s weekend fall event. Notre Dame does football and they do it well, but the emphasis is not on the visiting parents. I was told (but don’t know this for a fact) that all parents are not offered the same combination of ticket options. In other words, senior parents may be offered two different game dates in comparison to freshman parents so you can’t point to any one Saturday and say, this is a parent’s weekend. The football weekends are festive, fun, and not to be missed, IMHO. Game day activities start early and wind down with masses in the residence halls and dinner in the dining halls. Often there are cultural events scheduled for Friday or Saturday nights, but again, these are open to the all fans and visitors on campus and not geared specifically to parents. Notre Dame’s parent weekend is a special event held in February and is limited to the parents of Notre Dame juniors (called JPW for Junior Parents Weekend).
