Parents, what are your EC's?

Ok, My kid is still a freshman, so I do have a long way to go before I have to worry about my kids chances, etc… So enough of the college stuff for a while and let’s find out what do parents do for fun, what are your passion, how long have you had this passion/when did it start, why do you like this activity so much, if possible please identify the theme. Please feel free to add anything that I did not have in listed above.
I’ll start:

 1. I love gardenning, starting seedlings from seed and planting them is the most fund. I’ve been gardening since I was 10-year, I love the outdoors period. I plant all sort of flowers and vegetables(30 tomato plants todate) and I can identify a plant with 2 true leaves. I think I’m rich when I have lots of seeds and I do have lots of them, hundreds of packets. I usually spend my free time in the garden unless it rains.
 2. I love to cook as the results of the abundance from my garden. I can cook a lot of different types of cuisine: Indian, French, Italian, Thai, etc… What I love about cooking is I get to start a lot of things from scratch and add my own creativity.
 3. I also love to sew since I was teenager. I can saw without using a pattern such as making my own curtains, slip covers, kids and my clothes, cushions and costumes, etc…The theme to my ECs are love working with my hands, love the outdoors, love starting things from stratch.

I have some ECs too :D

I also love to cook. In fact, I have been a member of an internet cooking forum (similar to this one) for about 4 years. We exchange recipes, rate new recipes, etc. I haven’t had as much time to cook lately because of baseball season starting…

I am the DJ at S’s HS baseball home games. It requires me to be at every home game from about 1/2 hour before the game until they are done raking/watering the field afterward…but I absolutely love it.

Wine. I had a job in this business for about 3 years before we moved for H’s job 5 years ago. It was a GREAT job. Sigh.

I don’t know if you’d consider this an “EC”, but I’m currently a student myself. This takes up a lot of my time :)

I love to cook and garden also, but I don’t have much time for that these days. I have been an active band booster for the last five years. I served as president for two and my h and I still wear various hats with the organization. Although my S loves music and stayed in band throughout ms and hs, he was more the academic than the musician. Freshman D is musician through and through and is in All Region Band, is taking her solo to state and is trying out for the local youth orchestra. So, I guess my main EC is just like all the other CC posters - personal driver and assistant!

The food network inspires me to cook more. I especially love Oliver Twist, he makes cooking seem so simple, even an idiot can do it.(lol)
I used to volunteer in a lot of school and soccer activities but ever since I bought the book “Simplify your life”, I dropped all those activities and only focus on things I like to do. When my kids were younger, I feel overwhelmed with things to do.(even with a nanny, a driver, a cleaner) Now I only have a helpful husband(lol).
