I am planning a trip to France (in early September) with some friends and looking for any advice or recommendations for reputable apartment rental companies in Paris. I am also looking at VRBO and Airbnb but our group will need 4 bedrooms and I am not finding many with that option. My hope is that an apartment rental agency may have 2 units in the same building (or close to each other) that could accommodate us.
Our group consists of 2 couples, me and another female friend - 6 people. There is a slight chance my husband will make the trip which would bump us up to 3 couples and 1 single person - 7 people. Thus, our need for 4 bedrooms.
Currently, we are thinking we want to stay in the St. Germain area but I would appreciate other location suggestions given our accommodation needs.
The center of Paris can be hot and crowded in the summer-----perhaps something a little further from the center would be nice? Especially since the metro is so easy to use.
Paris is in trade show and runway fashion high season in September and choices can be few.
Paris Perfect is great.
Look on slow travel and foods for some good apartment threads.
Paris Perfect has the nicest apartment rentals in Paris - if you can handle the prices.
I rent from Cobblestay.com but I just went to their website and for some reason the Paris properties wouldn’t come up. They have a very large apartment in the 16th district and I went into it once - did not like it at all. Don’t know if they have any other large properties
My sister just returned from a month long stay. She looked into several companies but ended up using Paris Perfect. Her apartment was just a 2 bedroom but I heard it was lovely with great views. She was very happy with Paris Perfect but I know the apartment was expensive.
Another area to consider is Canal St. Martin in the 10th. A bit off the beaten path, far fewer tourists than in the Marais or St. Germain, but hip and cool. Check out this 4 bedroom:
At the time, we used Vacation in Paris. It’s a NJ company, I could call them on my time and paid in dollars. I think we used HomeAway for a flat in London. If I travelled alone, I’d use a hotel. But with a group, it’s wonderful to have an apt, come and go as you please, sometimes cook.
We use parisvacationapartments.com and are VERY happy with them. They do fill up early so you may be too late. They are much better than other agencies we have used, and certainly better than the vrbo stuff.
Checked out all the suggestions last night and they look very promising -thanks again!! We are meeting for breakfast tomorrow morning to finalize dates and an itinerary so hopefully I can secure a place very soon.
An apartment in Paris is the only way to go! You will feel so local and there is nothing better than shopping the boulangeries and charcuterries for wonderful small bites and a bottle of wine and sitting on your own balcony with your evening picnic. Saves hundreds of dollars in food costs when your feet are tired anyway.
I also recommend the Marais/Bastille area for a a bit cheaper alternative to St. Germain. (St. Germain is a very nice area, though!)
The closer you get to Bastille and the Canal St. Martin, the cheaper the rent should be. Very lively area with lots of young people and good restaurants that locals frequent. There is a huge market in front of the Citadines Bastille-Marais hotel, on Richard Lenoir Blvd. every Thursday and Saturday.
