Paris Hilton and app

is it bad to put Paris Hilton’s confession of a heiress as one of the books you had enjoyed reading? lol
or is it a bad impression?

i would not suggest it. I mean, its Paris Hilton…

if you enjoyed any book written by Paris Hilton, then I wouldn’t reccomend college.

yes i wholeheartedly agree…

Be true to yourself. If you liked it and if it’s important to you, then I hope you do include it in your app.

I think it really depends where you are applying to. If its a major safety I wouldn’t really worry about it, but a top school that would be really iffy. I had a question like that on my scholarship app but I wouldn’t feel comfortable putting that down. Just think what other people are writing. Sure it would make you stand out, but would it be in a good way?

Put it down! It will make you stand out from others…

i could think of so many books but this one is so funny!
i was thinking of putting it for some top colleges, yea…

You know what’s really funny? That Southpark episode about Paris Hilton. Yeah, you should definitely write about that instead.

Yeah…hmmmm…interesting. Hey, I think it’s cool, strange, but cool, sometimes you need some superficial fluff to lighten the day. If anything it’s a window into American media and decayed wealth. Sandwich it like this:

Siddartha, by Hermann Hesse, Confessions of an Heiress, by Paris Hilton, A Farewell to Arms, by Ernest Hemingway, War and Peace, by Leo Tolstoy…etc, etc.

Actually, the other three are some of my favorites. People ridicule War and Peace as being too long, but it is TOTALLY worth the time, it’s spectacular.

War & Peace goes along with books like Piligrim’s Progress, as overly long and dreadful.

Perhaps, but you must persevere! Russian lit is so often overlooked in high school, what about some short Chekov stories? I can see where “classics” aren’t what they were cracked up to be in literature, and personally, I can’t stand Mark Twain. Length is not an issue for me…writing style is.

What college requires you to put books that you have enjoyed.

i think columbia requires that

Writing by Paris Hilton is considered a “book”? Or have we redefined what “literature” is?

That’s because it’s an epic…? Or do you prefer the americanized, shortened version of War and Peace, which has the length and seriousness of a comic book?

You’re right. I’m Russian and I can tell you that’s even better in the original language. Nearly all literature is.

…shes hot.

…very much so

Don’t forget no school will admit/reject you based on mentioning Paris Hilton in your app.

Write what you really like. Don’t try to guess what an admissions officer would like to see.

Write down the Paris Hilton book only if you want to attend the college that she attends.
