Parking Question

I won a parking spot in the S12 lot. Does this mean that I have to live within Odum Village to use this spot. If you look at the map for this lot it encompasses the area around Odum. I am a transfer student so Odum is a possibility for housing but my question is if it is mandatory with this spot. The spot is $291 per year which i’m not too happy about but I don’t think there is much else near that price. Does anyone know of a lot significantly less than this? Thanks

parking is limited on campus so thats why they cost so much. If you look around you might find off campus spots for less. You spot doesn’t mean you will be assigned to live in Odum Village. If you are living in Odum then this might be a good investment, but if not, then find somewhere else. S12 is really far in south campus.

You might want to try and get yourself on the waiting list for the PR lot too. I was in there my sophmore year, its far but its cheaper and there is a bus that gets you there.

I’m an incoming sophomore transfer student at UNC and received a spot in K lot. Is this a good location/worth the 300$?

I had a spot in K lot my Junior year, I felt it was worth it. K is between the baseball field and Ehaus. I would take it, it was really nice having a spot on campus.

how did you guys know to enter the parking lottery??? That’s not something they posted right???

if you go to the Public Safety website you can put yourself on the waiting list. If you are an incoming freshman I don’t think you can enter. All the spots should have been assigned now, but like I said, you could try the waiting list and see what comes up in the next couple months. For current students they tell us about the parking lottery dates via the Informational Listserv.

Registration for parking was on the UNC transportation for a while … that’s the reason I knew to register.
