Parsons vs School of Visual Arts

A little background:
I was recently accepted by Parsons-History of design and curatorial studies, and very soon I’m Skype-interviewing with SVA-curatorial practice, both of them for the 2016 fall semester (Oh and interesting fact I just received a letter from SVA-CP regarding how their tuition is more affordable against other schools). Interns of purposes and trainings the two of them seemed similar, judging from their web information(Let me know whether I’m right about this) ;both school seemed promising, they stress on practicality and practice. I couldn’t visit them during open house since I’m serving my military obligation and would like to learn more as in where do these two stand in front of each other, that includes:

  1. Resources in and out of campus
  2. Professional/academic connection in NYC.
  3. How do their classes operate.
  4. Reputation

Please let me know if there are additional factors that I should take under consideration, many thanks!

Side note: I was also accepted by Pratt-Museums and digital culture, but I think I might go with Parsons (or SVA), what are their general reputation?

SVA. I have visited both schools with a friend… SVA is in a better part of town and Parsons was so weird!! The admissions guy who talked to us sounded like a cult leader, not like a real person. If those are your two choices, personally I think SVA is a better school.

I would also choose Pratt over Parsons.

I did not have a good impression of Parsons as a practical school where people learn things… the emphasis was on being experimental… we did not see really amazing student work at Parsons like we saw at SVA… and the difference in the tour and talk with the students was huge… SVA was more professional. Parsons does have a nice new library and theater though.
