part-time student at community college after bad highschool GPA

For the past year or so I've been attending a community college part-time, and have been doing pretty well (all A's and B+'s). High school was rough for me, and I got mostly C's and B's throughout, with some D's and A's. As I'm attending part-time, I can't apply as a transfer student to most colleges.

Because I'm only a part-time student, will colleges put more weight on my high school transcripts than my college ones?

I'm taking mostly biology courses in my college, because I'm planning on majoring in biology when I'm accepted at a 4-year school. Should I vary the courses I take instead?

Also, will the amount of courses I take at one time have any effect?

Thank you!
