<p>As a matter of practice I never participate in “surveys” that offer a “chance” of a prize for participating. But since this is for the CC sponsors I took it anyway.</p>
<p>Pretty silly survey, with no link or access to a “parent advisory panel”. I’m confused.</p>
<p>Agreed fog. I got to the first page & thought ‘Am I nuts? I spend a lot of time keeping my email and personal information off the internet. Who knows where this is going?!’.</p>
<p>Agree, fog, I take the time to fill out those “privacy” profile forms from banks, creditors, etc & ask them not to share our info, only share what they may legally share! Seems to cut down on a lot of the junk mail, too.</p>
<p>I work for Hobsons, and am a member of the Hobsons Research Group. I wanted to reply to your comments about the survey and the types of questions that were being asked. </p>
<p>I completely understand your concerns about your privacy, especially as it relates to your teens information and these days, you do have to be very careful. I am a mother of three myself, and can totally relate. Hobsons by no means is collecting any of this data to sell or pass off to anyone else. This is strictly for research purposes so we can work on new and innovative products and services to provide to parents as resources, to assist with college planning. It will go no further than our internal marketing and development team. </p>
<p>We have asked those pre screen questions as a way to gauge and understand our respondents, and have kept it inline with other major companies research screening questions. I apologize that you felt that some of these questions may have been inappropriate and intrusive.</p>
<p>We are gathering information from various groups: International students, US students, as well as high school guidance counselors. When we were developing our parent group, we felt there was no better place to get great parent feedback, than from College Confidential’s Parents Forum. We know that you are already out here active in the online community, looking for information on helping your student get into college. We wanted to hear from you guys so you can help us shape our new products and features. This is an exclusive group, and we will only send out a survey once a quarter through the Spring, so only 4 surveys. </p>
