Even though a given school doesn’t have a party school reputation, sometimes a department’s students may party a lot harder than the other departments. When I first came to the mathematics student caf

My school is mostly an engineering & commuter school- not the greatest mix for parties and fun! The big party departments/people just here for a degree are business, nursing, and education. I’ve heard more people than I care to count from the nursing department saying they’re only here because “I want to marry an engineer because they’re rich” or “I’m only going into nursing to meet/marry a doctor”. I find this really sad (if not terrifying) since these are the people we’re supposed to trust with our health.

(Not to mention, these are the same girls turning guys down for dates because they’re too “nerdy.” Since when is caring about your grades a bad thing?)

lol, well if they have a choice between marrying a rich guy or a poor guy, I think the decision is going to be pretty darn obvious.

But even commuter, research Us that have a comprehensive educational offering can still party hard. See McGill; McGill is one of the top party schools in the world (in academic terms) and still a commuter school, even when its strongest area is life sciences. But mathematics isn’t particularly hard-partying there.

Most people wouldn’t associate mathematics with hard partying and, even if you found a mathematics department that partied hard, they study hard and party hard.
