Party School?

Yes or no…

actually, i just got back from a frat party at TKE and it was PACKED. they had to stop letting people in because there was no more room. i’d say yes to your question. however, there is a good number of people who don’t go to parties or even drink. so i’d also have to say no… sorry for the weird response…

As is the case with most smaller schools, the ‘party life’ seems to revolve around the frat houses. Students cannot join the Greek system until fall of soph. year, so must be invited to parties as frosh.

There are alternatives…7th St. Cafe/Coffee House on campus - with open mic options, etc. or just hanging out…and Uptown - campus-run non-alcoholic nightclub in the refurbished basement of one of the dorms…pool tables, booths, bar stools, often live local bands at night…looks like a pub atmosphere, but no alcohol.

There are lots of clubs/groups who socialize and it’s a short walk to the (small) downtown area with a few bars and restaurants, but it’s all what you make of it…if ‘partying’ is important to you, you’ll soon figure out where to go…if not, there are lots of alternative social activities, as well.

My son just played at Open Mic Night on Friday. :)

yeah! i saw him and his friends play and they were awesome. =) i never miss an open mic night.

I must say I am intrigued by the bongos!
