Pathways of Excellence Lecture Series Starting

<p>James J. Duderstadt, President Emeritus and University Professor of Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, will deliver the inaugural Pathways of Excellence lecture.</p>

<p>Duderstadt is a nationally recognized authority on higher education, a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Science, and prolific author.</p>

<p>Duderstadt took a leading role on the national Commission on the Future of Higher Education convened in 2005-06 by Education Secretary Margaret Spellings to examine central issues in American higher education: access, affordability, quality and accountability.</p>

<p>His lecture topic will be, “The 21st Century University: Challenges, Responsibilities and Opportunities.”</p>
