i’m a junior just starting my college search. i’ve been researching tons of schools all over pennsylvania and surrounding states. i’ve visited penn state and liked it but it may be too big for me. some LACs i’ve been looking at include colgate, bucknell, lafayette, and lehigh. i want to study biology or some science, as i would like to attend med school. bucknell is about 40 minutes away. i have about a 97 unweighted average and have yet to take SATs (but i got 57cr, 57m, 57w on PSATs) colgate seems pretty isolated and i’m afraid i may feel like i’m in the middle of nowhere. financial aid would also be a major factor in my decision.

Do you know your EFC or how much can your family afford? Saying you need FA may not make you eligible for much, and Med School means big loans at the end.

The Patriot League schools all have median SATs around 2000 and your PSAT would seem to predict about a 1700. Do you have a plan or a reason to project that substantial an increase? A 1700 would put you right around the median for Penn State.

i’m doing a lot of SAT studying on my own and taking a math prep class so i’m hoping my scores will be sugnificantly higher than PSATs & my avg annual income is probably around 80k, but i really would like to know which schools have the best programs where students have good gpa’s but can still score well on MCATs and get into med school.
