I am not usually a sucker for a dance show - have never watched So You Think…Dance or anything (ok, I do watch American Idol) but last night was one of those dark, gloomy, cold nights where I just wanted to veg out in the comfy chair and watch something. Put on Paula’s new show to check it out and I kind of got hooked!

Liked the three judges (Paula, a guy who worked w/Michael Jackson and a former Pussycat Doll (?) ), liked that they moved the show along quickly, liked that they seemed sincere and it did not seem to sink low in the auditions as AI does these days. Paula seemed to have her act together, was sincere, while being nicely critical, etc.

Anyone else watch? I didn’t watch every minute, but a few of my favs were:
The teen guy and girl early on in the show - he seems smitten w/her - so adorable, and SO good dancing and music!
The young siblings from Chicago who did the breakdancing and the little sister , “Precious Moments” - cool kids!
The group of girls dressed in white tutu-ish costumes w/ the lone young guy dressed in black. Loved the unexpected performance from them!
The last young (about 10 yrs. old) girl and boy - omg, they looked better than most people on Dancing With The Stars! They MUST compete in those type of dances elsewhere.

I watched this show as well and really enjoyed it. I was listening to a radio morning show that I normally tune in to on my morning drive to work and they just ripped it apart. I couldn’t understand why! I’m willing to give this one a chance. I also liked the pace of the show, and thought they had some really good dancers on.

On the bad side, I could not believe they gave gold stars to that 80+ year old woman with the 60 year old guy; give them their 15 minutes of fame on the try out show, but it was disrespectful to the other dancers that they moved them on.

My 85 year old mother was furious about it ;)

I watched it and it was ok. Not sure if I will tune in tonight but it wasn’t horrible. I much prefer SYTYCD.
Really enjoyed the group of dancers that looked like zombies - it reminded me of a Wade Robson choreographed piece.

I enjoyed it as well. The auditions weren’t nasty; they didn’t show anyone who was truly horrible. And even to those that they didn’t send through, they were kind and constructive.

I do wish, however, that they would keep the camera on the dancers so we can see the entire flow of the routines - they’re not that long - rather than cutting away every 10 seconds or so to show reactions.

I was glad they put the Solid Gold dancers through, if for no other reason than out of respect. And I think that the 80 year old and 60 year old will get cut tonight - they go down to 16.

I remember the Solid Gold dancers well…every Saturday Denny Terrio and the SG dancers. Boy, am I aging myself I thought they were good enough to go through without the judges having to change their vote.
I hope this show doesn’t go the “Idol” route and show all the horrid dancers in lieu of the good ones.

^^^ I agree. I thought it was ridiculous that they put the old couple through, especially considering that only one of the three remaining dancers can go through.
