Hi, I am a high school student and I have been looking at those summer programs that offer scholarships and a lot of them require application fees ~ $75. Is it really worth going through all the effort of paying the fee, getting recommendations, transcripts, writing essays, etc. just to get into the program. Generally, is it really competetive? Like those university/ college summer sessions. It would be such a waste if I were rejected for every single one I applied. But it could be worth the risk if I do get accepted.

& although there aren’t a whole bunch out there any more, what are some that don’t require fees (for next year, of course)

Thanks in advance.
