Paying Tuition and CIP

<p>Hey everyone,</p>

<p>My parents are considering the Cornell Installment Plan and we were wondering what kind of fees are associated with this program. I couldn’t find any specific details on the forum when I ran a search. So does anyone here use CIP and know how much are the fees associated with using this service?</p>

When you enroll in the payment plan you are required to pay a non-refundable application fee to use the plan and any initial payments that are due to open the account. The amount due today informs you of the dollar amount that is needed to be paid today to activate your account.

<p>Additionally, does anyone know if the application fee is a one-time fee or do we have to pay every semester?</p>

<p>We have not used the payment plan, but I just went to the page. Began the process to see what I could find out. Once you put in the amount for Fall & Spring semesters and click on calculate, it tells you what your monthly payment will be and it shows an $80 application fee.</p>

<p>I am only guessing, but I suspect that application fee is once per year. While they call it an application fee, I think it is more to cover their costs of collecting the money from you and dispersing it to Cornell.</p>
