Hi, I have two questions for people applying to Philips Exeter.
- Have you received an email regarding your application status since the one sent on January 16th?
- What were your SSAT scores? Mine were at 92% but I'm not sure if that's high enough.
Hi, thepoptag6! I received an email that confirmed that my application was complete on January 21st, but nothing before that (since the email on January 16th). And my SSAT score was 98th percentile.
The reported average SSAT for PEA is 94. However like most other similar schools, the SSAT alone will not get you in or keep you out. The school tends to use the scores more than some other schools though for a few reasons: They have a very strong math department; there is a ton of work so a higher score ensures somewhat ability to be successful; there is a lot of independent work; not much hand holding in other words. Sink or swim. I believe the scores relax a bit for the junior, senior, PG year applicants.
What Jan. 16th email are you guys referring to?
Ok, thanks, I’ll email them soon and ask them about my application status. I did score highest in math so that may be helpful! 
To bump my previous post – what email did PEA send out on Jan. 16? Should I be worried if I haven’t received anything from them?
It was a form letter regarding admissions updates.

I wouldn’t worry I guess… They’re probably overwhelmed at the moment.
