Peddie and L'ville Waitlist

Hello all,

I previously made a post on my situation on admission to L’ville, Blair and Peddie. I was WL from Lville and Peddie (my top 2), and rejected from Blair. I really dont mind the rejection, I was just wondering how likely it is that the WLs for 10th grade at Peddie and L’ville will move. And if so, how likely is it for one to get off the WL for someone like my situation.

(High-need, low income, first gen american and college student, low SSAT, great essays, etc).

Any questions, let me know!

If you applied for financial aid, it will be very difficult to get off the waitlists. Schools often don’t admit waitlisted students to their schools because of their “rank,” but to fill a certain role in their school. For example, a tuba playing soccer player who’s also a debater opted to go to Choate instead of Peddie. Peddie would most likely choose someone from the waitlist who could fill that gap in their class. There will definitely be a few kids who get in from the waitlist, but I would probably make other plans and to not count on a waitlist acceptance.

I completely understand and I am actually doing what you suggested, and understand the meaning of the wait-list better thanks to your reply. I was however still wondering how likely it is that students admitted to my grade will not attend. Obviously, there may be students who do not attend, but what is that number usually? Is it often that people in my grade choose not to attend these schools? Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it very much

Realistically, I am not sure anyone outside their Admissions office is likely to have the hard information needed to provide reliable numerical answers.
