Peep toed booties

I love this trend. How long do you think we can get away with wearing it? I just bought these. Don’t want to spend too much money since it’s a little late in the season. Hopefully it will last until next fall, too. I’m hoping it’s apropo until it snows?

I’m not a fan of the laces, but I just got my D a pair like that only with side buckles. She is 17-I don’t think I’d be comfortable in heels like that. But I have worn White Mountain before and found the wedge heels comfortable on my sensitive feet. I don’t see why you couldn’t wear them in cooler (dry) weather.

While I like a lot of short boot styles, sorry, but peep toes drive me nuts. Most women’s toes never align right in the open space. Sorry. Agree you can wear them as long as your feet aren’t too cold from the open design.

I understand shoe styles are personal and these aren’t for everyone. Just wanted to know when they would start looking too odd to wear in colder climates. Thanks for your responses!

When your toes get cold and you start wearing a jacket. I just put my sandals away as the temps are dipping quickly and the jackets are getting worn. I’m not a fan of boot like shoes with open toes…but I think you could wear until it is too cold for the tootsies.

I just got a pair of peep-toed booties. Can’t wait to wear them. I think they’re adorable!!!

Conmama, when in doubt, look at the next season designer collections. If the style is still there, it is safe to say that at least some slice of the general public will be wearing the style for a few seasons.

I think they are really cute @conmama!

I have a friend who is 69 and wore a pair to a wedding last weekend. She looked great! She’s fun and likes fashion and had a really cute tunic and leggings on.

@deb922 …thanks. I wish I had purchased them sooner. @BunsenBurner …I don’t know how you do that! I will try though to find out, thanks.

My fashion D and I were just talking about these yesterday as we looked at shoes at our new Nordstrom Rack. I can definitely see the appeal to some people, but both my D and I really were not a fan of them for ourselves. On a side note, I told H last night that having a Nordstrom Rack I can walk to may just delay our retirement with my increased spending!

peep toed booties have been around for several seasons, so I think they’re here to stay for a while. We live in a moderate winter climate (except for dec and jan), and these are popular here.

I don’t have a pair because it feels like neither fish nor fowl to me-I’m either in sandals or boots depending on the season, and the booties feel like not quite either one to me, but I like how they look (just not how they feel-I can’t wear socks with them like I would with boots).

They are very popular in California and we wear them year round. They are ubiquitous in the stores.

However, I am in Milan right now and the fashionable Italian women usually provide a good indication of what will be most fashionable for us down thr road. I was very surprised to discover that NOT A SINGLE Italian woman was wearing the open-toed booties (or high vamp sandals).I’ve been paying attention and there’s not one!

Lots of platform booties and lots of over the knee boots and zillions of regular booties but not a single pair of peep toed booties or high-vamped sandals.

It’s cool and drizzly, so that may be why. However, I was here exactly 10 years ago (also in Oct) and I saw lots of women wearing peep toed booties then (way before the trend hit the states).

The manufacturer calls them a sandal and they look like a sandal to me. If you live in a warm climate, go for it. If you live in place where flip flops and sandals look odd right now then you probably need to save them until spring.

@nottelling …so interesting! Hmmmm…if I like them when they come in, I think I’ll keep and take them to Vegas. For $40, not too much money. I might get a few more wears out of them here before the leaves fall!

To be fair, Milan is in its own universe when it comes to fashion (both good and bad). Not all of it makes it across the pond. Some stuff is just…Merican. (and that’s ok. I lived in Milan and sometimes being perfectly chic got a little exhausting and you just wanted a pair of yoga pants and some uggs…)

Those are great Vegas shoes!

CL has a few peep-toe styles in his upcoming US collections. You should br safe.

@deb922 …thanks, with a pair of ripped jeans, I think they’ll be cute. Won’t do much walking in them though. @BunsenBurner …great, thanks for looking!
