Pell grant Estimate - $5,500 what does that "-" mean?

Just finished FAFSA application, and the results were this:
Estimated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) = 000000
Pell Grant Estimate - $5,730.00

Direct Stafford Loan Estimate - $5,500.00

I see a “-” before the numbers, what does mean? just a simple “dash” , or means negative?

Is this a real question?

A simple dash, not negative. Question is, when are you planning to start college? The fafsa for the school year beginning next fall, the 2015-2016 school year, isn’t available until Jan. 1st.

I just coulnd’t believe it is ture, Thank you. this is for my 2014-2015 school year. I just finished Fall quarter, and now preparing the winter quarter. but this school year is ending soon, will they return me the tuition that I paid for Fall? and what if i couldn’t spend the all of aids that i received? Im going to take 8 units next quarter

Beside Fall and Winter quarters, most schools also have spring and summer quarters in a school year.

Most schools will distribute Pell Grants in 3 quarters. If you have any Pell Grants leftover in each quarter, you will get the refund.

The $$5,730 Pell Grants are based on the full-time student status. Is 8 units count as full-time in your school?

That isn’t full-time…It may not even qualify for a Pell Grant at all. Don’t you need 9 credits at least?

8 units would probably constitute an award of half-time pell. 9 units would likely be 75% of the Pell max.
