<p>i’ve never strictly seen number 2 lead</p>

<p>The vast majority of all pencils, mechanical or otherwise, I believe are #2. Assume #2 unless it says otherwise.</p>

<p>i see things like 2b, hb, b, etc. i’m not sure which one corresponds to the lead in a number 2 pencil.</p>
