Penn AirNet

Does Penn have a single contiguous WiFi network stretched across campus? Meaning, well my iTouch have internet access the majority of the time I am on campus?

Thanks!

You’ll have wifi from Air Penn Net if you are by a building. You’ll have wifi most everywhere, but there will be spots where it’s unavailable. If you have the 3.0 update and they didn’t fix it, you’ll have to reconnect to Air Penn Net every time your iTouch goes to sleep.

yeah, airpennnet (or another wireless network, like airseas or uphs-guest) is pretty much everywhere

Venkat: I have the 3.0 update for my iTouch so does that mean I will have to reconnect every time I go to sleep? I experimented at home with my own WiFi and it was still connected after sleep. I hope it will be the same with Air PennNet. I found this link: http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/news/comments/ipod-touch-1g-2g-users-3.0-wi-fi-drops-failures/

I had that problem with Air Penn Net when I visited a month ago. Don’t have it at home or when I go to friends’s houses. The guys in Wharton Computing said that it was an issue, but didn’t really give me an idea when it would be fixed.

Ah I see, so it’s more of a Penn issue than an iTouch issue. Well, I guess I’ll just hope for the best when i get there. Thanks for the info!
