Penn CAS admit rate?

<p>I got an email from the dean of the college of arts and sciences saying that this spring the college’s admit rate is 9%.
“You rose to the top within an extraordinary group of applicants during a spring when the College’s admit rate was a record low 9%.”</p>

<p>I was Ed but I’m guessing this was specifically for the rd candidates? If not that would mean the college’s acceptance rate is lower than the overall acceptance rate.</p>

<p>^ That’s correct–the 9% rate is probably the RD admit rate for the College (hence, the reference to spring). The overall admit rate for the College is usually very close to the overall admit rate for all of Penn, which this year was 12.3%.</p>
