*Penn Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion*

@my2020 I have a feeling that you accidentaly ticked ‘Regular Decision’. Check your application again?

So I just found out my dad never faxed in his tax forms for financial aid (even though I asked him repeatedly!!) I’m going to take care of it myself today. Is it going to be a problem that I’m sending it so late? I’m not really depending on FA and not expecting much (if any) so it wouldn’t impact whether or not I can go if I get in, but every little bit helps with a 60K+ price tag

@ShaunakK98 @my2020 that came across my mind too  but check with your interviewer first, hopefully we are wrong.

@my2020 - Login to the uPenn portal and double-check. Entry Year/Plan: should say “2016 Early Decision”.

@rosewood98 Hey there! A UPenn student told me that the later you send it in, the later you’ll get your financial aid package. He didn’t specify whether it has a bearing on the amount of aid you receive though

Hey guys, just got offered a phone interview for this weekend. I was contacted by email so I guess the alumni are still getting some assignments.

interviews goes all the way until end of november.

Apparently Penn called a calc teacher at my school and asked why so many of our applicants took AB?
I’m glad I took BC

@TheWaffleMan149 - may I ask where (state) you are located?

I have heard from other admission members that a simple GPA is not what they are looking for but if if the plot of the grades (from each quarter) is like a sinusoidal wave, they don’t like it.

If it improves every quarter, definitely welcomed. If stable across all quarters, that is also good.

Additionally, schools are measured based on their difficulty levels and how good they are rated. Even the curriculum is measured.

I am told they do a deep dive into every aspect of the application.

PA

@TheWaffleMan149 - very surprising. Because UPenn knows the curriculum and difficulty levels of every school in PA.

Yeah I don’t know. Very strange

It is very clear that Penn loves Calculus. Do they offer multi-variable calculus (college level) in your school?

just found out pen didnt have my teacher recommendations omg so worried. That shouldn’t do anything to my consideration I hope?

How did you find out? @nfhd11214367p0i

Just got the interview email! Scheduled for Saturday morning in-person. I feel a lot of you will be getting invitations within the next day or so… Penn alumni are busy people!
Also worth mentioning, my intended major is architecture and my interviewer went to Penn for architecture… Considering that it’s a small major, I think it’s highly likely that this was intentional

My intended major is arch as well @c777123
I interviewed with a dermatologist lol
Good luck! Hopefully we both get in!

@TheWaffleMan149 There goes that theory. Likewise!

Does anyone know how to find out how many students are in each concentration at Wharton?

@shivaya I have the same question but for architecture… Is there at least a breakdown of the amount of students in each major?
