The thing that bothers me the most is they could’ve already reviewed your app and they know your fate while you don’t. Or maybe they haven’t even gotten around to yours yet. It’s like schrodinger’s cat, maybe they’ve rejected you, maybe they haven’t even gotten to you yet. But we can’t open the box O.O D’:
@SylvRsr I play piano and I submitted 3 pieces…a Bach Prelude and Fugue, a Beethoven Sonata 1st mvt and a prokofiev toccata… my teacher said that my playing was very nice cuz I recorded it as his house but unfortunately when I listened to it, I was a bit disappointed… I really hope it wasnt as bad as it seemed…
Are there any other figure skaters on this thread?
I feel like we’re a rare and dying breed
as we get closer to d-day, I’m getting more paranoid because I keep thinking I could have gotten better grades, done a better recording, studied harder for SAT, wrote better essays and said more things during my interview… I feel like im gonna get rejected…
@ZaGongShow That’s a nice selection! Don’t be so harsh on yourself. I think when we listen to our music we only hear the bad things… I recorded Meditation from Thais and Mendelssohn Violin Concerto and I thought I played well. The recordings were horrible so I decided not to send them…
@emilyskates I have never met anyone that’s a figure skater… But then since you’re from such a rare breed and Penn wants diversity, ~ accepted!
Samme!! I could have retaken the SAT 2s, worked longer on my essays, and started to actually care about extra curriculars earlier than junior year
I just uploaded two more photos to the portfolio just cause I can hahaha. Did anyone send Penn first marking period grades? They don’t even recommend it but you can still do it
Penn doesn’t even look at them I am pretty sure @c777123
@c777123 I rather not… first term grades are trash
@TheWaffleMan149 it is 100% whatever at this point
ahhh guys my interview is in like 2 hours and i’m (slightly) freaking out… how exactly am i supposed to know who my interviewer is? i would hate to walk into the cafe where my interview is and spend 10 minutes trying to figure out who’s my interviewer (i’m scared i’ll sit down at someone’s table and be like “hi! nice to meet you!” and then it turns out they’re not my interviewer and they’re like lol what are you)
@c777123 lol 100% whatever
So, I just checked my SAT IIs for Spanish and Chem. I f***ed up chem w/ the 660 and got a low 690 on Spanish.
You guys think I’m screwed-ish? lol
@SylvRsr Well, if we both get in, you’ll finally be able to meet one. And haha I wish it was that easy. I’m not super accomplished, like national level or anything.
I wish I had done something else that didn’t involve the ice rink. I feel like I must seem so one-dimensional.
@mirawan68 Email him ask him what he’s wearing or where he’s sitting? Good luck on your interview!
@nodaysoff97 I heard SAT IIs count for very little!
@emilyskates I wish it was that easy too… I feel like I did nothing that’s not music. I barely have anything science related and I wanna major in bio or chem
@mirawan68 Mine approached me first (and bought me a latte)! He’ll be looking for you. Good luckkk
subject tests aren’t a big deal from what i’ve heard…
for your interview, walk in a little and by a little i mean a lot early, and sit down at an empty table. that way, you dont have to awkwardly scramble to find your interviewer. Or, find your person on linkedin, and know what they look like. I’ve tried both, and both were effective…
My interviewer wore a Penn sweatshirt so maybe look for something like that
My interviewer emailed me saying what he was wearing. He also said it was smart of me to check on linkedin for what he looked like
