bump~!
bump~!
bump~!

It will weigh heavily on your academic potential, as shown from your reccomendations, at least for UPenn and Columbia. I mean, you have a nice extracurricular hook, but nothing that shows you are truly outstanding on a national level, so you’ll need to demonstrate that your academic abilities are high impact.

Your SAT II’s are just fine, although your SAT I Verbal is somewhat weak. I also can’t say that being Indian helps you … since they’re looking for very high SAT scores from the Asian applicant pool. But perhaps that is overly judgemental.

For Wharton, you are somewhat of a toss up. If they find a place for you in their “well-rounded class”, then you will certainly be in. But your statistics and achievements are not so impressive that you would find a place in ANY well-rounded class. You shall certainly find some very good colleges, in any event.

Joey

thanks, im a bit confused about this part though:
"If they find a place for you in their “well-rounded class”, then you will certainly be in. But your statistics and achievements are not so impressive that you would find a place in ANY well-rounded class. "

as in well-rounded class do you mean if they find a space for me to fit in at penn? or like…if they put me in their “well-rounded” applicant pool for review or wahtever…?

What I mean, is that you are not a certain admit at every great school, or even a majority of the great schools, as some people truly are. If, however, some school, or schools, finds a spot for you in the “well-rounded class” that they seek to create, you will make it in.

I’m saying, don’t expect lots of acceptance letters from the best places based on absolute merit alone. An Ivy League college may be looking for someone just like you, they also may not be.

Joey

ah okay…that makes sense. yup i know my verbal score is weak (i tried SO HARD to up it…learned like 1000 more vocab and took like 13 more REAL SAT practice tests (i have multiple versions of the book)…and then it ended up going DOWN…haha…) for ivy’s…but i’m hoping I can get at least admission at berk. penn is def my first choice though =P

let’s hope I’m one of those kids they want in their well-rounded class ^.^
