For those who might be interested.
In a phone call conversation with alumni interviewers (last year called Ambassadors) this past week the dean of admissions announced that admissions no longer wanted/needed feedback from alumni about conversations had with prospective applicants. Good or bad.
This effectively confirms that “interviews”, “conversations” or whatever they are a called no longer ( if they ever did) have a role in the admissions process. (in part bc they cannot offer them to all applicants).
While applicants might gain knowledge about Penn from the conversations and aid in their decisions, most applicants can get the information they want from other, in many cases more reliable, sources and in most cases its unlikely their decision to attend Penn is affected by their interview.
