Penn Preceptorial?

Hey all, got my Pennkey this morning so I signed up. At the InTouch website I noticed that signups for Penn Preceptorials are now available, and looking at them they seem to be small noncredit courses. They all seem pretty interesting and I might sign up for one, are there any that are particularly good that you recommend? Right now I’m thinking about Music And The Brain, Media in American History…stuff like that. Also, do the Preceptorials take up a lot of time, enough to interfere with, say, a five course workload?

Preceptorials aren’t a big time commitment at all. And they’re ungraded, so they can’t force you to do any of the reading. The most popular ones are ones involving food (wine tasting, truffle making, dim sum, etc.). From my limited experiences, all preceptorials are pretty good. And it can be a cool opportunity to meet someone from a completely different discipline that you wouldn’t normally take classes with. If something catches your eye, go for it!

Are they paid for by the University? I saw some from this semester that involved concerts - would we have to pay for these ourselves?

These sound amazing. Too bad I haven’t gotten my PennKey yet, has everyone else gotten it?

I need to make mine…
