Penn State Classes

What are Penn State classes like in terms of difficulty, work, examinations, grading-particularly in the general science courses-bio, chem, calc

i took bi sc 004- the human body and i felt it was difficult. it just depends on the teacher. most chem courses are challenging and most people don’t take them as an gen ed, but as a requirement for their major. the most easiest general science class is ASTRO 001 with Mercedes Richards. If you have any questions just ask.

How do PSU’s exams compare to AP Exams, more specifically, for Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus? Are they more difficult or about the same?

One thing that was pointed out at FTCAP was that you spend a year of HS completing an AP course that fulfills the requirement for a semester long course in college.

my friends who took MATH141 and MATH 220 said that some of the material was difficult, but they performed very well on the exams. They usually give weekly quizzes and 2 or 3 exams a semester, plus the final. For chem, that depends on your teacher, but the exams from the people i know they have never recieved a grade no higher than a B+.
