penn state decision very confused!!!

I applied to smeal and just got denied yesterday because I hadn’t met high school course requirement… decision letter ended with “College course work can substitute for high school units. If you schedule the appropriate substitute course(s) at a local college or university, please email admissions@psu.edu as soon as possible and provide the name of the institution where you plan to take the course(s), a course description, and the number of credits. We will require an official transcript showing that the course is successfully completed prior to enrollment at Penn State.” called admissions and it turned out to be I hadn’t taken a required math course in high school. only two options were to take the course at night, over the summer and send them a description of the course or to update my application to undecided. does this mean I can be accepted if I choose one of these options?

Yes, that’s what it means. Go undecided (DUS). You can work on all Smeal requirements as a DUS major and apply for Smeal sophomore year. Students admitted to smeal are pretty majors. They will have to complete the exact same entry to major requirements that you would as DUS.

thank you!

No problem…that should have said “PRE majors”…Auto correct!
