I’m sure she’ll have a ton of great options when all said and done! FWIW, my daughter chose Pitt over her fall UP admission at PSU and couldn’t be happier with her decision. My younger is equally interested in both schools so I’m trying to keep an eye on this year’s admissions cycles at all of the schools she plans to apply. Additionally, your daughter should check out the club sport offerings for her sport at both schools - they seem to offer a very happy medium for competitive athletes who want to continue their sport without the D1 commitment but still compete, travel etc.

DD accepted to University Park engineering this morning! So excited! Can anyone share the housing situation? Do I need to put down a housing deposit prior to committing to the school? She has EDed to a school so not ready to commit, but Penn State is top 3 for her. Getting spoiled by all of these unexpected early acceptances.

housing is totally random and as long as she commits and pays the deposit prior to May 1, she is guaranteed an equal chance at every living situation. There used to be an advantage to depositing early, but that process has changed and it is totally random.

@cv08 this is a great point - there are LOTS of club sports opportunities at Penn State and many of them are extremely competitive. Great way to get involved on a big campus.

She knows a few girls on both Club Field Hockey at PSU and Club Lacrosse at Pitt. She knows she will have a hard time not being involved in some capacity so she’s happy to see how competitive the club teams are

My daughter just got an invite in her email for Schreyers to do an alumni interview….should I have her do it?
Congrats! Did your daughter get this invite before being accepted to Penn state or was she accepted first?

Also, I saw some people mention Schreyer interviews. As a Schreyer alum, I can offer a little insight. On 11/3, Schreyer sent an email out to alums asking for help conducting interviews. It said that 3,500 students submitted their Schreyer application by 11/1. It also mentioned that 11/21 is the first date to start hosting interviews. That’s all I know because I can’t interview students this year - my son is one that applied, so I had to decline. Good luck everyone!

The Stars is still showing as received and I know my son’s friends who submitted their application on 11/1, have got their acceptance notice already.

My son submitted 10/31 and his STARS is still showing Received as well, everything else shows as complete. I wonder why there is a delay.
I emailed admission office the other day and they said they are verifying information, not sure what they are looking at. All grades are pretty much there..

My daughter got her acceptance yesterday. We are OOS (Texas) and at around 7pm we noticed her Test Score button was gone from her portal. This morning she had an email sent at 11:15pm that an update in her portal had been made and the letter of acceptance was there.
