@cv08 That is fantastic news, congrats!
Hoping this is a good indicator for our daughter as she awaits her decision.

Is there any way to submit Q1 Grades? Or do we have to wait until she gets a decision to ask to be reconsidered.
congrats to @cv08 @WeArePayingTuition @Mateers6
Glad you guys all heard (relatively) quickly - we are still over a month away from final decision commitment, so while it feels like forever, any time they hear before Thanksgiving is a nice bonus!
soon comes the hard part: decisions where to attend.
I’m trying not to be too anxious about my son getting an acceptance to Penn State. He applied mid-October for summer session to the College of Liberal Arts at UP for a history and German double major. He has a 3.976 W GPA and a 3.76 UW GPA. He has 7 APs, 1 honors, and 1 IB class. He had a 1260 SAT score (I know, not great). Oh, and we’re locals. He has already been accepted to Susquehanna University. Words of comfort, anyone???
I don’t know if my words are comforting—but we’re local and very anxious! It would be a shame to have an amazing university at our back door and not be able to go!
Throw in that I’m an alum (Ph.D.) and my spouse works there (so discount if he gets in).
I was just admitted to PSU Early action Fall 2026(pa resident)
3.88 weighted gpa and a 3.56-3.6 unweighted gpa
5 honors and No AP classes, and I applied test optional. I did do dual enrollment with Penn College of Technology(Penn State affiliate)
I barely did any ec’s
I am doing a technical school alongside my normal hs right now. Even though I took 2 sciences, tech school essentially replaces my standard science class.
I am still shocked!
Oh boy, “a lot” of Education majors received their acceptance at my daughter’s school today so she is panicking a bit. She did finally get it out that “it is still so early” so she took a deep breath and was out the door to her next activity for the day. Should be an exciting few weeks!![]()
She has applied to HHD, so I just had to remind her that everything doesn’t happen at once, and each school within PSU seems to have their own schedule.
The pressure is REAL!
Is this button located under the college app application or did you all apply straight through PSU? We are not seeing the same screens to know if the button disappeared.
It’s on the PSU portal. If you have it, it’s under where it says STARS completed.
Thank you so much
daughter got in last night. 3.6UW (3.9-4W), 29 ACT, 5 AP before this year with all 5s, OOS applicant. solid(?) ecs with cheer captain and cheer national championship. accepted to earth and mineral sciences. lots of schools yet to go, but this is the first yes where she may actually attend and it’s my vote for sure!
As fallwasbrutal (Thanks!) mentioned, it is under the button of “STARS completed”. My son applied through Commapp.
Thank you !!
We happened to visit Penn State on the day of the home opener football game at the end of August. What a fantastic day to visit campus and see all of the excitement! We loved the campus, so my daughter was absolutely thrilled to get accepted today. Bellisario College of Communications. OOS 4.2W GPA TO
Anyone’s button disappear yet after 7 today?
Yes, my daughter’s finally did disappear, sometime after 7pm today… hoping for some good news (for you, too!) later on!
So they do look at ec and essays
Yes, once the academic threshold has been met, they look at everything else, which may include test scores (most important among the less important), essay, ECs.. but 2/3 decision is GPA×rigor.
