Our son applied summer only for ChemE and the wait is killing me, he seems to be doing just fine thankfully.
He’s been accepted to Pitt & Delaware for a few weeks now, and received a partial scholarship from Delaware this week. Penn State UP is his #1 choice.

I think there is plenty of time! My son is a sophomore. He had many friends that got in DUS 2 years ago and did not hear until mid December. He did not hear until late December. It is still very early for PSU!

Did he indicate willingness to attend Summer session?
yes he did. He got 2 + 2 originally for Smeal on Dec. 20 then asked for reconsideration. He got Fall UP DUS a few weeks into January.
Of his several friends that got DUS in mid December, 4 of them got summer and 2 got Fall.

My son chose Summer start so I am really hoping he gets that and not 2 plus 2.
My son applied for Summer too. I wonder if that is why it is taking longer?

Congratulations! This is helpful, as I noticed the admitted stats are creeping more towards my son’s with each wave. (3.7 UW, 1440), all same classes. But, he chose summer so not sure if that makes a difference timewise.

@rdelvecc @bschops8 there will still be many 2+2 decisions released. But the obvious “easy to 2+2” ones have been made.
Think of a big bell curve. They deal with the tails first - the easy admits and the easy 2+2. Everyone else - in the middle - is still in the game (until they aren’t). My point - that I so inelegantly made - is that you are still in the middle with a chance. Take that as good news!

My son just got his acceptance notification to the Eberly College of Science. He submitted his application on Oct. 18. He is OOS, SAT1470, Weighted GPA 4.12, 4 AP classes with 5, and 3 more in senior year. This is his first admission and a big sigh of relief. He also applied for Wisconsin, Purdue, Ohio State, Maryland and UW Seattle.
