Where would the honors button have been to begin with and does everyone have it?
It sounds like youād like to submit it and if you ask for reconsideration theyāll consider your test score too (if you donāt submit it they donāt accept it for reconsideration AFAIK).
Based on your profile youād have a shot at ETI in IST (Business and technology) for reconsideration and that math score would likely be sufficient there.
What would you regret most, sending it and getting 2+2, or not sending it and getting 2+2? (I assume that if you got in either way thereād be no regrets 
).
Do whatever youād regret least even if the result isnāt what youād want.
Yes, it automatically disappears after December 1 since that was the last ditch application deadline to submit Schreyer essays.

The honors button WAS right above the test score but I think because honors college application deadline was yesterday it disappeared.

Thank you @myos1634. Sheās currently in Honors Advanced Spanish (4 yrs foreign lang), AP Environmental Science, AP Gov, Honors Contemporary Literature, and Pre-Calc, and doing well which will bring up her gpa to above a 4.0. Again Iām not sure how PSU will recalculate her GPA as her school only shows weighted. She did opt-in for summer. Is there an easier path to UP Fall than DUS?

My son got Smeal summer with similar stats 2 years ago. Son this year is a solid student with all the things, good rigor, GPA, etc. SAT 1510, with 790 mathā¦ but still who knows when it comes down to how they make decisions. Always gotta wonder about yield protection too.

Thaks. I am familiar with IST. A number of my classmates have been accepted to IST UP. They applied TO, ~3.7 GPAā¦just a few APs.

The STAR(SRAR) is entered and everything is recalculated based on that. Thatās why on this thread weāve recommended to start entering data as soon as the Jr year transcript is available AND to have another pair of eyes review it line by line.

The question about DUS is tricky: typically, DUS was rather competitive because itās the āpivot to anythingā major at PSU. Students who hesitated between engineering and premed, or ist and CS, or many different majors, applied there. In addition, until this year, the typical path to enter Smeal was DUS->Smeal through a āDUS with Smeal intentionā pathway, with only a very small percentage students entering Smeal UP out of HS. As a result, DUS was rather competitive!
This has changed: DUS is still the āpivot to anythingā major EXCEPT for Smeal, where itās become restricted. The students who aim for Smeal will now get into Smeal as premajors right out of HS and will choose their majors as long as they have the pre-reqs. DUS students who completed the Smeal pre-reqs will then be ranked their Sophomore year to choose among whatever places are left among the different Smeal majors, not all of which may be āopenā.
At admission time, for HS applicants, it means more seats for Smeal students right out of HS and no overflow to DUS which should logically become less competitive. But by how much, we donāt know yet.
There have been majors less competitive than DUS. We can over possibilities depending on academic strengths and goals if need be.

Hi, I have a 90 gpa, 31 act (32 super). Applied DUS. Will have 5 apās, honors and college classes through senior year. Lots of ecās and very good essay. Out of state. Thoughts?
It means that you cannot apply for the Honors College anymore as the final deadline was Dec. 1 for SCH applications.
Honors button disappeared for everyone because the deadline to apply was yesterday.

Hi! I applied EA on Oct 23 for Criminology, TO, Summer option, In-State, 98.8/100 UW, 11 DE classes, 3 Honors, but no APs since my school does not offer them. I have 4 years of foreign language along with DE Calc, Stat, Psych, and Soc. I have not received an acceptance yet and it is hard to stay patient when there are so many acceptances!! Are my chances of getting into UP Fall decent?

That would be great! Sheās interested in healthcare. She did well in AP Psych and Bio.
