:100: agree. BBH is a hidden gem. My Junior Applied DUS and switched to BBH after discovering Biology wasn’t exactly necessary for pre PA

My daughter was accepted a few weeks ago. OOS, Eberly, biochemistry. 4.0/4.7, 1440 SAT. She has also applied to Schreyer and is REALLY hoping to get in. Penn State is her top choice but she really wants Schreyer.

I don’t remember what my D25 got, but I thought it was some type of big envelope. This was a more of a brochure, but it was from Smeal, not PSU in general.

In the past, there has been a large envelope with a folded poster (11x14?) that says “we are… class of ‘xx” . Some of the parents have said to their kids “stop with the portal checking and wait for us mail” because it used to arrive 3 days or so after the portal update. You used to start to see some of those posters on SM.

I’m wondering if they changed the process this year? Regardless, I wouldn’t expect anything more than the ubiquitous fat envelope from them. They aren’t sending out swag (shirts, sox, etc) like the private schools that accept a fraction of the students that PSU accepts.

If she doesn’t get Schreyer … she can go to PSU and apply as a “gateway” student after freshman or sophomore year. She can also do most of the same things - lots of kids who are not Schreyer do research and are TA’s and find other ways to get involved. DM me if more questions.

According to admissions AP scores are not used in the evaluation of candidates.

We are in the same boat. If not Schreyer is Sapphire an option for Smeal students? I was a bit confused about this during the Smeal presentation we went to back in September.

Did you get an email from Admissions with that answer?
Because it’s my understanding they use/used to use all test scores that are provided.

Sapphire is an honors program for business students only. Students have to be admitted to Smeal to apply and criteria are different. Since there will likely many more students admitted to Smeal this year than previously it’s likely to be much more competitive.

My son just got his acceptance tonight to University Park in College of Agricultural Sciences for fall of 2026. Unweighted gpa of 3.6 and weighted of 5.19. 2 APs, 4 DE, 7 honors classes. Great ECs but they typically do not look at that. His test button disappeared a little after 6 and acceptance letter was on lionpath.

Has anyone heard from the Poli Sci major? I keep seeing Smeal and Engineering results. Went test optional with 3.96 unweighted and 4.45 weighted GPA.

What did that include in terms of honors&APs in history , social science, English, and foreign language?

Yes, my son got in a few weeks ago for Poli Sci. 3.93 unweighted and 34 ACT.
