Got into Smeal tonight!! Applied 9/29. In state. 5.81 w/3.78uw Very competitive hs. All honor classes all years, 4 APs, 1 DE, 1370 (670 eng/700 math) SAT, competitive percussion player, ecs, retail job. They agonized over applying Smeal vs DUS vs engineering because they’re not sure if they want accounting or engineering or physical therapy- very undecided. Chose to apply Smeal believing it’d be more difficult to switch into later. … Older siblings found out mid-Oct (engineering) and late Novemberish (communications). … This year feels so different.

Oh boy! Test scores disappeared at 630ish. They just came back. Any ideas why?

3.82uw 6.5w test optional 2 aps stat and psych 1 de class sports leadership roles good volunteer hours and a solid essay in my opinion.
Thank you to everyone for the help along the way I hope this info is helpful for the students like myself with non 4.0/1400 sat!

Our son was accepted to the UP campus, College of Engineering!
We were discussing colleges tonight and decided to check the portal. Test scores button was missing. Logged into Lion Path and found his acceptance letter.
PA residents, applied for Summer term in early October.
GPA: 3.58uw / 3.84w
SAT: 1260

Beyond happy.

Does shreyers look at essays only or again grades are considered too?

Glitch in the matrix? Test button did NOT disappear by 7:30 last night but son got email accepted Smeal UP fall. 4.21 unweighted gpa, 1410 (720 M), .

Previous kid had applied in early Aug and heard back 19th Dec, engineering as well. Hang in there - I feel you - the wait is so hard

Congratulations!!! We are waiting on Schreyer as well. They only review/consider the essays and the interview if your child had one (not required).
No. Test results disappeared at apx 630pm. No access to Lion Path, kept trying. Then his test results came back. It is getting tough. He heard from a friend who was test optional, which speculating below 1300, was accepted to Finance 2 da w ago. We keep conjuring reasons why. Now we are hanging out hat on not seeing any Smeal Actuary Science major acceptances. Everything we have seen posted has been Finance and nonoe of the other Smeal majors. I know Finance is the most popular and difficult to get accreted to, so possibly getting the hard work out of the way.cannot remember in PSU had a second choice major or I am confusing it with Purdue or another school, but his second choice would have been Accounting, which I have not seen any posting on either.

hang in there. It’s tough. I know kids who were top candidates last year who didn’t get in until the last day!

That is odd and so frustrating. My son has a friend who had a lower than average GPA, and TO who was accepted to Smeal (Finance) this week . It seems all over the place. Hope your decision comes tonight!

Could you share if applicant already had AP Calculus or AP Stat in the coursework or AP Exam?

@MYOS1634 will they continue to only put out acceptances around midnight up until the deadline or will they start putting out multiple times a day? 2 years ago my son got his acceptance at 1:30 pm.
Since my son is in Stem Rigor IB program, they don’t take AP. he took Standard level Math analysis and Approaches year1 and year2 (senior year). No AP offered in school.
