My student was, as expected, denied reconsideration. Asked for Smeal UP with summer start. LOL. He still has Smeal 2+2 Harrisburg on the table. Wondering about the social life at Harrisburg?
Has anyone received merit from out of state? Trying to compare the numbers against the other schools that my daughter has been accepted to so was just curious if PSU typically gives them out.
Don’t expect much, if anything.
curious though why you are asking since you said Kelley is her dream school? (And she got $$). Are you hoping to use PSU merit as leverage to increase an offer elsewhere?
No, not using it as leverage. Just doing our due diligence as I’m sure everyone is, so we have all the facts/information before making a final decision.

What is the difference between a summer start and LEAP? Or, are they the same?

Anyone that got offered 2+2 smeal and asked for reconsideration for Econ or Ag business and were successful? My son is considering DUS or Econ as consideration request. I saw the Ag business major and was curious of that one too as it shows good business route potential outside of smeal. His offer currently is 2+2 finance (smeal)
I went to PSU Hbg…at the time it was more of a commuter school. It definitely has changed and there seems to be a lot more social life down there. I live nearby and frequently see events taking place.

It’s the same 
LEAP includes special programming for freshmen who start in the Summer. They join a little Lion Pride with about 20 other students, take 2 Gen ed classes together, have activities and field trips together under the guidance of an upper class student who shows them the ropes so that they’re ready to hit the ground running when Fall comes around.

Depends on the stats. Agribusiness is a super well-designed major.

Its one of the more residential campuses with Altoona and Behrend but it’s not fully residential. What other choices do you have?
People admitted to Smeal are you considering other options? Student is trying to decide among IU Kelley, PSU Smeal, Villanova, and possibly Purdue.
what are the deciding factors in the decision besides price?

So a couple of days after my daughter received her reconsideration acceptance to UP, this landed in her mailbox. Her original app was not to DUS, so it’s confusing. What does it mean?

No, I don’t think they withdrew their reconsideration.
Did you receive a reconsideration decision then this message about DUS? It sounds like it’s the case. It is likely an IT problem but you should call to understand why you have two different messages, especially if your first application wasn’t to DUS. So call and ask something like “after my daughter received her Reconsideration decision, she received another message. Does the message mean you’ve withdrawn your decision or was it an IT problem?”
Is anyone waiting for Schreyer? Is there another thread for that? I know they said students would be notified by 3/1, but I’m curious if it will be earlier.

Happy to help based on my last son. He went to Fisher and has really thrived there. Now decision for my second son although he may do Econ.
