What were your other stats like? I never took any college courses (only 3 APs and 6 Honors) but got admitted to UP as a psych major a few days ago!
I am not a part of the admission committee. I was at one time a parent volunteer of Penn State admissions. I have been a parent volunteer here at CC for the last 9 years.
There is no way to know if anyone from the actual admissions dept is looking at this page, However, there are several employees fairly high up that are definitely in the know who post here or pass me information confidentially.
I think that’s good news. 2+2 would be a more final decision.
How could you possibly know if this is true? Everyone is anonymous here.

I never said it was true…thus the quotes. People here need to come to their own conclusions. I have a good sample set of my own over the last few years. Nothing I say should be construed as true. All here need to verify on their own. I mentioned orthot in the past. This is TRUE. Penn State uses orthot to compare high schools against eachother as a tool of theirs. It’s in the budget as a financial line item as of 2 years ago and widely known that Mr. Melvin used it at Kansas. Your responses come across as if you work for the University, your language confuses many here…I do not work for the university. It’s my own “soft” research…

No, MY responses come from having been here for a very long time. Nothing I have ever said has insinuated or represented myself as being an employee of the university. The opposite in fact. I have said over and over that I’m a volunteer. If you are confused, that’s your fault. I’m a volunteer, but I’m also a very knowledgeable one.
Your post about Orthot was in reference to Penn State admission decisions being completely computerized. That is not true. Orthot used to compare HS profiles? Sure. Even bringing up Orthot is confusing. It means nothing.
At the end of the day, I help kids and parents navigate Penn State Admissions and help them wade through the rumor and innuendo posted as fact and TRY to calm the chaos. I have no dog in this fight. I am here to help kids. That’s it. Take it…or not.
Next year, when you have moved on, I’ll still be here with the same 6 or 7 folks who have been here forever doing the exact same thing as me. Lots of times people who know much more than I do pass me info to pass on, because dealing with people questioning them constantly is exhausting.

Crickets here for us. We know that the end the week is the deadline for EA decisions so we’re trying to be patient with the process.
Ack link would be available after 9pm and portal should update after midnight . Atleast that’s what I have seen so far with acceptances

Historically admissions has updated more than once a day in the week of the decision deadline. Let’s hope that’s true this year as well!

May be of little consolation at present but I have only seen 2 (I think?) UP Smeal acceptances b/n the PSU Decisions thread and the Facebook 2028 parents page. but many DUS/engineering/comp science/psychology/and others accepted. Perhaps Smeal apps are being more closely scrutinized and many acceptances have not gone out yet? One of acceptances (on the Decisions thread) had very similar stats to your kid, just higher SAT. So I would not give up on it although with those amazing stats I’d be frustrated too!

Well if that’s the case, I will be much more aggressive in pointing out incorrect information. You, yourself, say not to construe anything you say as true - but at the same time post information as if you have inside information which you could not possibly have. Please play nice here, or don’t come to play at all.

Unfortunately, for many, they don’t understand that Smeal has an extremely low acceptance rate (5-8%) as a pre major (freshman acceptance). I WISH Penn State made that clearer to students because it is so hard for really high stat kids to be blindsided when the average GPA is a 3.6. They think they are a safety when really they aren’t.

@jlhpsu is a dedicated parent volunteer and has never attempted to pass herself off as anything else. There are others who post here who provide a wealth of knowledge and insight.
good luck to all waiting. I know it is tough. I do believe that Penn State is closely managing their numbers since the last two freshman classes have been larger than expected. That may be the reason for all the deferrals. Hopefully, they will take the time to actually read some of the essays and look at academics (i.e. classes) more thoroughly to determine their final fall/summer/2+2 list.
