Is your child still receiving " your application is under review" then stated your application has been updated a status will be updated soon then back again to Your application is under review? Applied on 8/29
My daughter had her application in on 10/8, friends have heard back, but nothing has happened in her portal. No glitchy updates or changes or access to Lionpath as I have been reading all throughout here. Hopefully something soon because this is too much to handle.
Does anyone know how long it takes for Penn State to send you something in the mail after youâve been admitted?
Yes- happened to mine on Tuesday night. And then the FAFSA email from Admissions last night. But still under review in the portal and no Lion Path access.
Son received his letter ~ 6 days after he saw his acceptance on the portal. Others reported getting it sooner.
i asked for reconsideration for the summer session! i didnât want to give up my summer but ive heard great things
How did you go about doing that? I want to ask for a reconsideration also but am unsure of the process.
Ours took 1 week. Over heard others got theirs the next day. So pretty random.
Draft an email to admissions, admissions@psu.edu. In the body of the email, put applicant name, psu id, and explain you want a reconsideration for another major. Make sure it is a major less competitive than the one you originally had. So for example if you were declined or given 2+2 for engineering then ask for DUS for the UP campus add summer option as this increases your odds. The email subject should state âdecision reconsiderationâ. The email should come from the email on the account.
Iâm rooting for you! Summer sounds amazing at Penn state. I heard amazing things too.
Congrats to your son! My sonâs girlfriend did Summer for same major and had a wonderful experience there! Look into the LEAP program, great introduction to PSU! He and her both graduated this past May and had stats similar to your son. Enjoy every minute of it!
Thank you all. These posts have been extremely helpful. My D was accepted last night. TO button disappeared, got access to lionpath and saw the letter! Best of luck to all that havenât heard yet!

Does anyone know how many days a week the summer session is? Are any classes offered online?
Itâs 6 weeks, I believe itâs on campus in person. Two classes, three credits each.
LEAP is a fully in-person program. Due to it being only 6 weeks, I would assume classes would be held all or most weekdays.
For summer session do you know if you would have to change dorms for fall? If youâre already in a dorm?
Five years ago my son and a good friend of his roomed together for the Summer LEAP program, first I canât speak highly of it enough. It is like paying for another semester for only 6 credits but helped them adapt to the school and their surroundings before thousands of other students showed up. They did fun things like hike Mt. Nittany, take a tour of the football stadium and meet for pizza with their mentor. Itâs M-F with weekend activities if you want to stay for them. Secondly, their dorms were super nice and air conditioned, however they both asked to remain together in the same room and had to move. At that time to East Halls where the dorms had not yet been updated! Quite a shock after their experience
in Summer. My soon to be daughter in law had the same experience, had to completely move out of one dorm and into another one in the Fall.
You do have to change rooms.
I have never heard of anyone having a bad experience with LEAP. We are in state and everyone raves about it, whether they go in dreading it or if they wanted it.
The main downside is the additional expense, which makes it untenable for some families.
Son applied engineering and no decision yet. Anyone else waiting on engineering?
If anyone got in please share stats if possible.
